REVIVING THE VILLAGE

After 30 years of running a children’s home, we are evolving our model to better support children and the communities we serve.

Our model of supporting the child is based on empowering birth mothers, mother mentors, and foster mothers drawn from our community;

offering them a safe and supported family environment using an attachment based, trauma informed care-giving style.

WHO IS TLC?

Since 1993, we have helped over 900 abandoned babies find forever homes. Building on our legacy, we moved to a new property in 2021 that is better suited to the excellent services we provide our community. We have multiple programs that focus on quality of interventions, over quantity of interventions.

I found TLC Children’s Home through their FB page and proposed to donate toys and clothes. They immediately answered favorably and welcomed us for a visit. We learned a lot on what where the real needs of the children and we would like now to continue helping on a regular basis. The kids are well nourished and loved, the facilities are clean, organized and offer a great outdoor area with playground. The ‘mothers’ and volunteers are extremely dedicated and passionate about their work. We feel that all the donations are well used and directly invested in the Home and for the Children’s making it one of the best place of its kind in Africa.
