Hello to all our dear friends,
I know that once again it has been forever since I have posted news on the website. I am so, so sorry!
There are a group of students from the university of Cape Town who are going to be riding the Cape Argus Cycle Tour together to raise funds for TLC. This is a wonderful initiative and so exciting. Alex Antrobus who has organised the exercise has put together an excellent little document that explains exactly what is involved if you want to find out more about it.
Life at TLC continues to be one crisis after the other, and in between we deal with all the everyday problems and disasters. And it seems like this year we have faced more than most.
Rhys was putting up some new lights and got electrocuted. He ended up in ICU and spent a few days in hospital. He was very sore for a long time afterwards, but seems to be doing much better now.
Zoe is doing a lot of work in the local squatter camp this year and so that is also bringing a lot of social problems to our attention.
Blessings on you all...
See you in the surf!
Joanna
Nursery News...
5 March 2010
Hello friends!
Since the last update quite a lot has happened in the nursery. We have placed three of our little ones with local families, and seven with international families. Six of these babies have been placed with Danish families: Kedrick, Lamont, Eloise, Anna, Orlando and Karissa, and Khensani was adopted by a Finnish family.
Tammy went home to Australia for a month to visit her family. I have really missed her help here, and will be so VERY HAPPY when she gets back here on the 16th.
Volunteers have been coming and going, and we are also so grateful for the hard work and long hours they put into the lives of our babies. We have received a lot of applications for July and August, but are a little short staffed between now and the middle of June. If anybody is interested in spending two or three months helping us... please send us an application form, we would love to hear from you.
Well, life is calling me again!
Joanna!
