Lucindiso
Lucindiso was born in the summer of 2003. When he was a year old his mommy passed away. As Lucindiso was also very ill his granny requested that we look after him and try to stabilise his health while she attended to the funeral arrangements for her daughter.
Lucindiso came to TLC, where he was treated for tuberculosis and kwashiokor. He was tested for HIV, and the test returned a positive result. Further tests were done to determine the extent of the infection, before the results of this test came in, Lucindiso passed away. We subsequently discovered that the infection was extensive and the poor little fellow had insufficient reserves to fight off any opportunistic infections.
Lucindiso had been at TLC for four months when he passed away.
