Malachi
Malachi was born in the winter of 2003. He was born 12 weeks prematurely in a hospital to the south of Johannesburg. It rapidly became evident that he was HIV infected and that the virus was active in his little body.
When Malachi was 10 weeks old the hospital decided he had gained enough weight to be discharged, although he was still quite ill, because he was HIV positive they felt there was nothing they could do for him and requested that we care for him.
At 18h30 in the evening, exactly two months after Malachi came to us he sadly passed away.
