Thalia
Thalia was born prematurely in the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in the middle of the winter of 2007. She was born before her lungs had fully developed and suffered from chronic lung disease. When she was ready to be discharged from the hospital her mother could not be traced. The hospital social workers requested that she come to TLC.
In the middle of the summer, after 2 months at TLC she contracted an aggressive adenovirus. After a short fight her lungs failed and she passed away. She was 5 months old.
