Founding Director of TLC Ministries

Thea is the founder and director of TLC. She has a passion for little children and believes that every child is entitled to a stable home and family. Thea has a ministerial diploma. She graduated from the Common Purpose Meridian program in 2010 and she has been the driving force behind the organisation for 18 years.

Father Barney McAleer

Priest

Father Barney is in the South African Catholic Bishop’s Conference, he served as a parish priest for most of his life and now heads up the Evangelisation desk of the SACBC. He has been with TLC for more than 15 years.

Fiona MacLachlan

Board Member

Fiona was the chairperson of our board of trustees for 2 terms. She is a practicing lawyer specialising in family law. She sits on the Board of at least one other organisation as well. She is a trained mediator and arbitrator. Fiona has been working with TLC for more than 15 years.

Jo Gruneberg

Board Member

Jo has experience and been Chairman of the Round Table Alberton, and worked on projects such as Reach for a Dream and the establishment of Child Line. He is actively involved in the Scout Association of South Africa, where he is the District Commissioner for the Alberton and Germiston areas. Jo’s occupation is that of an Information Technology Manager of a German Manufacturing Company. Jo and his wife have adopted a child from TLC. He has been with the organisation for 9 years now.

Mark Kaplan

Board Member

Mark has been involved in TLC for over 10 years now as a financial adviser. He has a B(com)Accounting degree and he is also a CA(SA). He is a Financial Adviser and Investor and has a wealth of business experience.

Tendayi Moabi

Treasurer

Tendayi is the treasurer she is well qualified and experienced in financial management with over 20 years in the government and NPO sector. She joined TLC 2 years ago.

Ursula Macheke van Graan

Chairperson

Ursula has over a decade of experience spread over the disciplines of Socio-economic development, development funding, Project Management and mentorship support to entrepreneurial Social enterprises generating high social value by supporting and empowering women. Prior to establishing Equity Evolution (Pty) Ltd, Ursula established herself in different fields of the Corporate and Not-For Profit (NPO) environment. She joined the TLC board 2 years ago. She was the secretary of the board and just recently took up the chairperson’s role.
